God Brahma: The Creator

Devotees recognize Brahma, the god of creation, as one of the Trimurti, the holy trinity in Hinduism, alongside Vishnu and Shiva. Depicted with four heads, each representing one of the four Vedas (Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda), Brahma creates the universe and all living beings. Therefore, he symbolizes knowledge, wisdom, and the eternal cycle of birth, life, and death

God Vishnu: The Preserver

vishnu god

Devotees worship Vishnu, the preserver and protector of the universe, for his ability to maintain cosmic order (dharma). Known for his ten incarnations, or avatars, including Rama, Krishna, and Buddha, Vishnu descends to earth to restore balance and destroy evil. Consequently, his vast powers encompass the preservation of life, the dispensation of justice, and the support of the righteous.

Shiva: The Destroyer

Devotees revere Shiva, the destroyer and transformer, for his role in the cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction. Depicted in deep meditation or performing the cosmic dance of Tandava, Shiva destroys the universe to pave the way for new creation, controls time and space, and bestows liberation (moksha) upon his devotees. Thus, his symbols, such as the trident (trishul) and the third eye, represent his might and wisdom.

Lakshmi: The Goddess of Wealth

Devotees worship Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and fortune, for her power to bestow material and spiritual abundance. Depicted with golden coins flowing from her hands, Lakshmi embodies beauty, grace, and generosity. Thus, she is revered not only for her attributes but also for the blessings she provides. Consequently, during Diwali, the festival of lights, people particularly venerate her, seeking her blessings for prosperity and well-being.

Saraswati: The Goddess of Knowledge

Students, artists, and scholars revere Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music, arts, and wisdom. Depicted playing the veena, a stringed musical instrument, she symbolizes mastery over arts and learning. As a result, Saraswati dispels ignorance and bestows the light of knowledge, creativity, and eloquence.
